“Would you like to know how others are doing it?”

“Page 40 changed my life. Or maybe it was page 37.” The reader was telling me about her experience. She used this simple phrase from one of our books: “Would you like to know how others are doing it?”

This is one of the safest ways to close prospects, with no rejection. Prospects can volunteer to hear more if they’re interested. But when they volunteer, they have made a decision to buy or join. It is so simple and so safe that even the shyest new distributors can say it.

Here are some examples:

  • “My whole family is now getting a huge discount on their electricity bill. Would you like to know how they are doing it?”
  • “I lost 20 pounds simply by changing what I ate for breakfast. Would you like to know how I did it?”
  • “My neighbor sold his car, and is now working out of his home. Would you like to know how he did it?”
  • “My older sister completely changed her skin in just six weeks, and now people think she is the younger sister. Would you like to know how she did it?”
  • “This year I am paying for Christmas with cash, instead of a credit card. Would you like to know how I am doing it?”

This easy two-sentence close is easy for new team members to learn. They can become effective closers in less than a minute.

Positive/Negative.

“What if” is negative.

“What happens when” is positive.

A simple language adjustment that works.

How important is motivation to our business?

If we put effort into our network marketing business, we will get a return. That seems fair, doesn’t it?

But what if there was a way to get much more back from network marketing … without increasing the effort we put in?

There is a way. It is called skills.

We can separate ourselves from the amateur network marketers quickly by learning high-level skills such as motivation.

The sad truth? They taught us geometry in high school. I struggled to think of the last time I used it. Instead, don’t we wish we had learned business-building skills such as motivation?
