We can only think so much …

We can only think so much …

And then …

And then …

We actually have to do something!

We can’t just focus on these things:

 

  • Mindset.
  • Goals.
  • Positive self-talk.
  • Chanting affirmations.
  • Singing the company song.
  • Believing.
  • Visualizing.

Yeah, that is all inside our heads.

Eventually, we will have to reach out to others. We must leave the comfort of our minds and venture out into the world to … do something!

Do prospects care about what is inside our heads? No. They probably don’t care about us at all. 😊

So when we are ready to go to work in our business, let’s learn what to say and what to do.

Which sentence will get a better response?

A. “Do you find that things are expensive now?”
B. “Do you find that jobs interfere with our week?”

Both are good. Is one of them better?

We can figure this out.

Think about the emotions in our prospects’ thinking.

Which color personality will respond emotionally to things being more expensive?

Which color personality will respond emotionally to not having enough time with the family?

Why we should focus on the basics.

The University of Texas charges $613 per credit hour in tuition. That is over $10,000 for only one semester. And what will we learn? Hmmm.

We can buy books and audios for less than $20 each that can change our lives. Personal development gives us a high return on our investment.

The Truth Must Be Told

The Truth Must Be Told

I have been a Member of Worldprofit now over 13 years and this is a testimony I have
been waiting to write and couldn’t write until the time was right.

With what we all went through in 2020, we must take major action NOW if we want
to do better this year. I know we all have heard and made the statement this
year will be better than the last, but unless you realize that “to have something
you never had before you must do something you never did before”. And that one
simple thing you/we must do is commit. Not to the world, not just to our families,
but to ourselves. We do things for family, but to accomplish this financial goal
we need, want, and deserve, we must commit to ourselves. And how do we do that?
Easy. Follow good sound advice others who have accomplished what we desire have done.
And that is where 3 very special Worldprofit members come in. I will try to keep this
very short, but this is where the most exciting and Important information lies.

3 things happened that changed my mind and life’s direction.

1- I saw what I knew I needed in an advertisement online and I answered it.
Notice didn’t say what I wanted but what I needed. If you are going to be successful in  any business you must keep to the truth.
The ad simply said that “if I needed all the tools to be successful online there was only one company that would provide everything in one location”. This ad came from Howard Martel and at the end of the ad there was a phone number. I called and after Howard talked to me for almost 1 hour I was in. Not strictly because of the content of the ad. But because of Howard’s conversation with me. He cared enough about me to take the time to talk about life inside the WP operation. That was the beginning.

2- I called in and the 1st voice I heard was the voice of truth.
I won’t call his name because whenever I  mention his name it takes me hours to stop talking.
But what he promised me above all else was that if I worked this business like a business, and put in the time,
I would reach a point where the business would run itself. Ok, I knew this could be true because of my brick and mortal businesses run this way.

3- I took action and signed up right there.
This was a business decision and it was nothing new.
You must  realize we make these type of decisions everyday. True life and    death decisions, and this decision was based  on one thing and one person. ME. If I   did as Mike P. told me, nothing could stop my success but me.

Then after I saw all this I met a fella from Canada who impressed me with his simple and direct ways, Brian Armstrong. Brian simply told me if I wanted what I heard, stop lying to myself and do the work. I am the blame for my own success and failure. All George, Sandi, and Worldprofit could do was keep their company promises and provide everything they knew I needed to be successful and that they have done. Thank YOU!!!!

Now over 14 years later, just when I needed them the most, the promised fruit has born itself over the past 3 most difficult years of my life. 

Live long enough and sickness and hard times will eventually come. At the end of 2018 my downward flow started and progressively got worst. So bad to the point that I had to make business decisions about what I needed to cut and what I needed to keep. I cut over 10 income flows that were working but “1” stood way higher than all the others.

My Worldprofit was making money every month. I never share what I make because when others see it, if they don’t make the same thing they holler Scam. When they in reality have not worked as hard as I had, and had not believed in themselves and the product.

Why is this so important, because at the end of 2017 I could no longer promote anything except my tax business. That’s all the energy I could muster. But guess what? Worldprofit continued to make me money month after month with no promotion from me.

Every promise made to me was true. Even the part where I promised to put in the time.
All the previous years and hard promotion now I understood what George and Sandi, Mike, Howard, and Brian were telling me. Just do the work and believe, everything will come into being. You just do the work.

I know this is long but I had to say it. I had to give due to what had occurred. I thank God for everything and over the years I have always thanked God for Worldprofit, it’s leaders and members. Far too many to mention.

But I close with this: If you are serious about business and making money, you really have no choice but to join Worldprofit. They do it all.

Important Definitions:
Digital Products:
Before you can promote digital products, you need to know exactly what they
are. Digital products, sometimes referred to as ‘Info Products’ are products
which are distributed and accessed via the internet, with no requirement for
any physical items to be transferred. They include e-books, reports, website
hosting, online advertising, website memberships, video training courses,
digital assets like domains, software, apps and licenses to sell other peoples’
products.
Affiliate Marketing:
You may already be familiar with the concept of affiliate marketing but just in
case you aren’t, affiliate marketing is a system where you are compensated by
the vendor of a product for referring sales on their behalf. For example,
someone might purchase a pair of gardening gloves from Amazon after clicking
an advertisement on a gardening website. The affiliate who placed the
advertisement would then be eligible for a small percentage of the value of
that sale. A lot of affiliates promote physical products like those available from
Amazon, but I focus on digital products because the commission rates are
much higher.
ROI (Return on Investment):
*This is the ONLY thing that REALLY Matters for Building an Online Income*
Real online businesses require some form of investment to become successful.
In my experience, when people say you can make money without investment
they’re usually wrong or the amount of money you can potentially make is
insignificant. A return on investment is the percentage of your invested money
that is returned to you in the form of sales or profits. For a project to be
profitable this needs to be >100%. Financial investors rely on correctly
predicting whether a currency, commodity or stock will increase or decrease in
value. As digital marketers, we rely on optimizing a digital sales funnel so that
it will generate more revenue in sales commissions than it costs to advertise.
Digital Sales Funnels:
These are the most important part of The Digital Product Business Blueprint
and the component that you absolutely MUST get just right. Just ONE good
digital sales funnel can enable you to achieve total financial freedom. However,
optimizing a sales funnel so that it makes more money than it costs to
advertise is by no means easy. Nonetheless, promoting digital sales funnels is
the ONLY thing that has ever worked for me and I have tried A LOT of different
online income systems. The digital sales funnel consists of the following
components:
• Lead Capture (Squeeze) Page: This is a page which has just 1 function – to
inspire your visitor to enter their email address so that you can market to them
in the future. This email address collecting process builds you your most
valuable business asset –your email subscriber list. For most internet
marketers, their email lists are their primary source of income. Your lead
capture page must grab your visitor’s attention, pique their interest and
convince them that not entering their email address into your subscription
form would mean missing out on something amazing.
• Lead Magnet: This is the product you are offering your visitor as a reward for
giving you their email address. Your lead magnet might be a report, e-book or
even a software product but whatever it is, it must be something that
genuinely helps your prospect. A high-quality lead magnet brands you as a
professional and helps you to build trust and rapport with your leads. That
said, you can use a lead capture system which collects email addresses just for
the privilege of seeing the sales page for your digital product. In this instance,
it’s particularly important to add value to your email leads via your follow up
messages by giving them useful information and explaining to them who you
are and why they should listen to you.
• Premium Offer: A digital sales funnel should ideally contain a high-converting
paidoffer of some sort which is presented to your new email lead immediately
after they enter their email address.
• Upsell(s): An upsell product is an additional product which adds extra value
to the premium product your email lead has already bought. Including these in
your digital sales funnel boosts your ROI. Most digital products you can
promote as an affiliate include upsells and downsells.
• Downsell(s): It’s important to make as much money as possible from each
buyer going through your digital sales funnel so presenting a cheaper
alternative offer to an email lead who has just passed on the upsell(s) is an
effective way to increase the ROI you achieve from your digital sales funnel.
• High Ticket Offer: One way to really boost the profitability of a funnel is to
include a ‘high ticket’ back-end offer. A ‘high ticket’ offer just means a very
high value product which is very expensive and, if you’re an affiliate, gives you
a lot of commissions for each sale. High ticket offers are usually presented via
webinar and usually cost between 500 and several thousand dollars. These
products are usually personal coaching offers from marketers who have a track
record of enabling their students to build very successful businesses. A good
place to put a high ticket webinar sign-up offer is on the download page for
your lead magnet.
• Follow Ups: People don’t tend to buy a product on their first exposure to it.
It’s therefore important to have an automated system for following up with
your email leads and presenting them with further opportunities to buy your
digital product(s). I regard this as an integral part of a digital sales funnel as it
really increases the profitability of your funnel.

An angry email.

An angry email.

Here’s the short version of an angry email I received:

“You pompous idiot! How dare you suggest networking tips to me. We have a system in our group that works. We don’t want our group doing anything else!”

Somebody was having a bad day.

Who? Me.

I didn’t pass on networking tips with the intention to offend her. But apparently I did offend her. I certainly didn’t feel good about ruining her attitude.

Thinking of solutions here.

Solution #1: Ask the lady to please unsubscribe to these networking tips. That seems easy enough.

Solution #2: Explain that I am not here to tell her or the group how to run their business, or to interfere with their system. But for every step in the system, such as closing prospects or icebreakers, we will need some words and techniques. I pass on what works for me and others. They can choose which techniques they want to use, so each step of their system works better.

My plan of action? I decided to have a few donuts before I wrote her back and apologized. I don’t think I will send her the notice for next year’s new Mindset book.

When we get the right goals.


Can we remember a time when we looked forward to something exciting? Maybe it was when we were children. How did we feel when we woke up on Saturday mornings? Happy? Energized? Two full days of fun with no school? This was the best time in our lives.

We did not have to force ourselves to wake up. We were not grumpy, tired, or unenthused. We couldn’t wait to get dressed and go play with our friends. Weekends were awesome. We lived for weekends! All week long we thought about our upcoming weekend.

Motivation and fun are automatic when our goals match who we are as a person.


We don’t have to chant affirmations, cut out pictures for our vision board, or meditate in silence visualizing our goals. When we know exactly what we want, every step along the way is fun and fulfilling. We are moving forward to our goals.

Bottom line? Don’t set goals that require doing something we hate. Instead, adjust our goals to match our color personality and our personal values. Then everything gets easy!

The diet products salesperson.

“Hi, my name is Mary Jones. I sell the Slimmer Body Diet breakfast drink and I live right here in Hometown, Texas. I show people how to lose weight just by changing what they have for breakfast. They just drink delicious milkshakes for breakfast. No more gym memberships or starving or counting calories. My ideal customer is someone who wants to lose weight, but is too busy to exercise and cook organic foods. Oh, and it is perfect for overweight children too.”

The cosmetic salesperson.

“Hi, my name is Heather Lee. I show women how to find and use makeup that works for them. I live here in Hometown, Texas. All women use makeup, but they sometimes end up buying makeup that doesn’t match. I can fix that. My ideal prospect is a lady who goes to work daily, wants to look good, but doesn’t want to spend hours messing around with makeup.”

We can pack a lot of good salesmanship into a few words if we prepare beforehand.

My best advice for 2021

But how do we get a first sentence that is:

  • Right for us?
  • Effective?
  • Rejection-free?
  • Comfortable for us?


Our career depends on this.

Here’s how we’ll do it.

Write down one first sentence every day for a month. Yes, now we have 30 first sentences. But here is the magic.

It is almost impossible for anyone to write down 30 bad first sentences. (If we do, we might want to consider another career.)

If we write down enough first sentences, we will eventually write down a good first sentence that works for us.

Got 30 days?

This could make 2021 the best year ever!

“Give me some starter sentences to ignite my imagination.”

Okay. Let’s consider a few first sentences from the book, How to Build Your Network Marketing Business in 15 Minutes a Day.

  • “I have a plan. I will get an extra $500 from a part-time business, invest it in stocks, and then dump this job in 5 years. What do you think?”
  • “Where do you think you will be at this exact same time next year?”
  • “If we are still staring at each other 30 days from now, that means we haven’t done anything to get ourselves out of this rut.”
  • “We are in a rut. We don’t want to do this until we die. What is your plan?”
  • “What would happen if we created a plan to get rid of this job and escape from here?”

It is Christmas dinner. The conversation is positive. The family is in a good mood.

What a great time for a presentation about … our business!

We set up a flipchart at the end of the table and say:

“Now that you are all here, let me tell you about my business opportunity. And after this flipchart presentation, I have a company video for you to watch!”

Rude?

Yes.

There must be an easier way to help our friends and relatives want our opportunity, right?

Why not say something like:

  • “This year was okay, but I want next year to be better.”
  • “This year was boring. I want to make next year more interesting.”
  • “I need a change. I am tired of getting up early every day for a boring job.”


What happens?

Many will be thinking, “Hey, I feel that way too!”

And now we have open-minded people to continue the conversation with during our holidays. It is a lot easier when we talk with people who are self-motivated, looking for a change in their lives.

Getting fired isn’t so bad.

When looking for prospects, think about people who got fired from their jobs. Maybe they like to wake up late, hate commuting, have their own ideas about how to do things, and just want to be their own bosses.

They sound like great prospects to me.

Who says prospects aren’t motivated?

Our prospects gave up four years of income by not taking a full-time job during college. Does giving up four years worth of income sound like motivation to us?

Need more proof?

  • Our prospects’ jobs require 50 weeks a year.
  • Our prospects’ jobs pay just enough to survive.
  • Our prospects’ jobs require 40 years of work, just to earn retirement.
  • Our prospects’ retirement will pay just half the money they couldn’t live on while working full-time.


Hmmm. Prospects have motivation.
Sometimes we are the problem. It might be time to learn better things to say to our prospects.

How to sell organs … and our products and services.

Keith and I often talk about reverse marketing as a great way to build our business. Here is an example of reverse marketing. Hopefully it will give us ideas on how to get more qualified, pre-sold prospects into our business.

Not a lot of people wake up one morning and say, “I think I want to buy an organ today.”

So if we are an organ salesman, how can we build a successful business?

One organ salesman lived in a retirement community in Florida. Organ sales were terrible. No one wanted to spend thousands of dollars on an organ, especially since they didn’t even know how to play an organ.

To stimulate interest in organs, the organ salesman gave free or low-cost organ lessons to senior citizens. The individual and group lessons became a social event for them. They brought their friends and the number of organ students multiplied.

After buying their first organ, the students now had a fun activity to do at home. It helped pass the time between their favorite television shows. Soon they would watch television from their organ bench and play the organ during the commercials.

Practice makes better. Eventually the organ students wanted a better organ at home and upgraded to a more powerful organ. Of course the profits were greater on the larger organs.

The organ salesman eventually retired – rich.

The moral of the story?

The organ salesman saw his business as creating a community of organ enthusiasts rather than just selling organs.

What type of community can we build that will help build our business?

Here are some ideas:

  • A community of people striving to become debt-free.
  • A community of people worried about their cholesterol.
  • A community of people who hate commuting and want to work from home.
  • A community of people who believe in losing weight and staying fit.
  • A community of people who want to reduce their taxes.
  • A community of people who want extra money for an exotic group vacation every year.


Good marketing makes prospecting, recruiting, and selling easy.

Controlling our prospects’ minds.

Prospects prejudge us harshly, but only if we let them.

Instead, we can get our prospects to think about something else. We will get our prospects to think we are “mind-readers.”

How? I borrowed these four phrases from our book, Create Influence. They are so easy to use for our opening words.

#1. “You are probably thinking …” Next, all we have to do is mention the obvious. We could say, “You are probably thinking, ‘How long is this meeting going to last?'” The prospects will think, “Yeah. That is exactly what we are thinking. You understand us. We think the same. Let me listen to what you are going to say next.”

#2. Or we could start by saying, “If you are like most homeowners, you wonder, ‘How will we get the money to fix these problems?'” And now their minds are busy thinking about the budget, and not busy judging us.

#3. Or we can start by saying, “Most people here tonight made a decision to take action instead of staying at home and watching television.” Now our previously hostile and skeptical audience is thinking, “Yes, that’s me. I chose to come here tonight.”

#4. Or we can start by saying, “As many of us know, the school budget isn’t enough for the influx of new students.” And our audience begins to nod in agreement.

How to talk to small business owners.

Most small business owners are married to their businesses. Their whole lives are tied up in their businesses. And as cold-call salespeople, we are a distraction.

So first, build rapport.

Second, listen. And listen a bit more.

The purpose of business is to solve people’s problems. So instead of jumping in and pushing your solution, try listening for a problem that the business owner might have. Then, offer your solution if it fits.

And then be creative. Maybe your vitamins could help the business owner work longer hours, or your utility savings would give the business owner more money for advertising his or her business. There are lots of possibilities.

But jumping in and pushing a solution, even with a great opening sentence, is hard. Try listening first, and maybe the solution will be obvious.

“Just do it!”

Sounds good, but we have to know what to do.

Being motivated in the wrong direction doesn’t get us very far in our business.

My first two years in network marketing were a disaster. I was motivated, had a great attitude, believed, had my “why,” set goals, and … I failed miserably.

We can’t become an airline pilot by reading Facebook posts and having a cheery attitude.

Becoming a doctor takes more than a vision board.

At some point, sooner rather than later, we have to learn how to do our job.

Where is a good place to start?

How about starting with a great first sentence that gets prospects to open their minds? Then, at least we have a chance.

Then we can grow our skills from that humble beginning.

Yes, we need motivation. But … we need more than motivation to get the job done.

Here is a humbling test we can give our team. Ask them, “Please write down, word-for-word, your best first sentence.”

When we see they can’t or won’t do it, we understand what is missing in our business.

Is changing our team members’ mindsets within our “Zone of Genius?”

How about changing our personal mindsets? Can we do that easily, step-by-step?

Getting decisions.

Q. What is the default setting for most decisions?
A. Don’t change. Keep everything the same.

Once we know that our prospects fear change, we rethink our presentations.

First, we try to minimize the change to our prospects.
Second, we compare our new offer to something they already know.
Third, we make our change so attractive, prospects will want to change.

Do we do this when talking to prospects?

Sometimes.

In the future, we will consider this “change dilemma” before talking to our prospects.

With less change comes less fear, both for us, and our prospects.

Anti-persuasion skills.

My worthless sponsor could get prospects to “dig in their heels” and resist in seconds. That’s not a good skill to master.

My worthless sponsor would open a conversation with phrases such as:

  • “Would you be interested in hearing about my company?”
  • “Are you tired of not succeeding?”
  • “Let me tell you about my opportunity.”
  • “When do you have 15 minutes to chat?”


And guess what? Prospects would resist the conversation and look for someplace to escape.

A good first sentences is the best starting point for learning the skills.
