Thank You Jesus for the Cross
"Gratitude is the natural response to grace."
🔰 Introduction
Gratitude is not a requirement to earn God's favor; it is the overflow of a heart that has already been touched by it. In the Christian walk, the sequence is vital:
The cross is not merely a historical landmark or a religious symbol; it is the beating heart of our thanksgiving. It is where eternity touched time to rescue the lost.
PRECIOUS SACRIFICE — Thank You for the Cross
The cross was the place of payment. It was not a tragic accident or a defeat—it was the divine, pre-ordained sacrifice of the Lamb of God.
Christ died for our sins.
Gave Himself for us.
Offered once for all.
Loved us and gave Himself.
PAINFUL SUFFERING — Thank You for the Price
Redemption was not free; it cost Jesus everything. He endured physical, emotional, and spiritual agony to bridge the gap between God and man.
🎯 Isaiah 53:5 — Wounded for our transgressions.
🎯 1 Peter 2:24 — Bare our sins in His own body.
🎯 Hebrews 12:2 — Endured the cross, despising the shame.
🎯 Romans 5:6 — Suffered for the ungodly.
"Every drop of blood says: 'You are loved.'"
PERFECT PAYMENT — Thank You for "It is Finished"
We do not work for salvation; we work from salvation. The debt that we could never pay was settled by the One who owed nothing.
- ✅ John 19:30: The cry of victory — "It is finished."
- ✅ Colossians 2:14: The debt blotted out and nailed to the cross.
- ✅ Hebrews 10:12: One sacrifice forever.
- ✅ Colossians 2:10: You are complete in Him.
POWERFUL RESURRECTION — Thank You for Rising Again
The empty tomb is the divine receipt. It proves that the sacrifice was accepted and the power of death was shattered once and for all.
🌅 1 Corinthians 15:4 — He rose again the third day.
🌅 Romans 1:4 — Declared to be the Son of God with power.
🌅 Romans 4:25 — Raised again for our justification.
🌅 1 Corinthians 15:55-57 — O death, where is thy sting?
✨ 5. Personal Salvation
Eternal life is a present possession, not a future hope. You don't have to wait until you die to know you are saved.
- The Gift of God (Rom 6:23)
- Passed from death to life (John 5:24)
- Saved by grace (Eph 2:8-9)
- Justified by faith (Rom 5:1)
✨ 6. Permanent Security
What Christ gave can never be taken away. Our security rests in the Keeper of our souls, not our own ability to hold on.
- Sealed by the Spirit (Eph 1:13)
- Kept by God's power (1 Pet 1:5)
- No condemnation (Rom 8:1)
- No separation (Rom 8:38-39)
✨ 7. PRAISEFUL RESPONSE — Thank You From the Heart
Grace received produces gratitude expressed. When we understand the magnitude of the cross, praise becomes our lifestyle.
