The End of a 30-Year Watch ⚓
After more than three decades dedicated to supporting the U.S. Navy in cybersecurity—a journey that included 20 years and 10 days on active duty—I did something that once felt unimaginable. Today, I turned in my badge, my access card, and my credentials. I took one last look around, walked out of the building, and felt the heavy door click shut behind me for the last time.
For years, the plan in my head was simple, etched in stone: stay the course, ride it out, and finish well in this one, defined lane. I honestly thought I’d stay in this world until the house was paid off, until the traditional retirement age arrived, until all the boxes were neatly checked. It was a good plan, a safe plan. But it wasn't God's plan.
He allowed a major shift I didn’t script: unforeseen contract changes, government decisions beyond my control, and the definitive end of a long and meaningful chapter. Yet as this door closed, I was able to look back and see something incredible—He had been quietly preparing me for this transition all along, laying a foundation for the mission to come.
Looking Back: Gratitude in the Rearview Mirror
Even as this job ends, I’m not walking away empty-handed or with a sense of loss. Instead, my heart is full of gratitude for the resources, lessons, and relationships that have equipped me for what's next. This wasn't an abrupt ending; it was a carefully orchestrated handover.
✅ The Experience and Relationships Built
Three decades is a long time. It's a lifetime of experiences spent alongside some of the most dedicated people on the planet: sailors, civilians, contractors, and leaders. This world taught me more than just technical skills. It instilled in me a deep sense of discipline, the ability to see the big picture through systems thinking, and the power of collaborative teamwork. These aren't just “job skills” to be listed on a resume; they are foundational tools for life. The same mindset required to protect a complex digital network from unseen threats is invaluable when helping a family navigate the complexities of their financial future. These relationships are the bedrock upon which my next chapter is built.
✅ The Financial Runway: A Cushion of Grace
This transition didn’t end in chaos or panic. Through God's grace, I was given a financial runway: a severance package, my final paychecks, and a payout for years of unused Paid Time Off (PTO). This buffer is a profound gift. It's the breathing room to pivot without desperation, to build my next venture with intention instead of anxiety. It’s a tangible reminder that God’s provision often arrives right on time, preparing a soft landing for a leap of faith we didn't even know we were about to take.
✅ The Wisdom of Preparation: My Silver Lining 📈
Over the last few years, I felt a quiet nudge to make some wise moves, particularly investing in tangible assets like silver. At the time, it was just a prudent decision based on my growing understanding of economic trends. Today, seeing a 200%+ increase in that investment since last year feels like more than just “good timing.” It’s a powerful lesson in stewardship. It’s proof that preparation is a form of mercy and that God honors the quiet, faithful decisions we make to protect our families. All of this tells me one thing with absolute certainty: God knew this day was coming even when I didn’t. He let me build a cushion before I ever knew I needed to step into something new.
A New Season: From Cybersecurity to Financial Security 🛡️➡️💰
This isn't retirement from purpose; it's a redirection of purpose. The skills, the drive, and the mission to protect have not vanished. They have simply been re-assigned to a new battlefield, one that affects every single one of us.
Stepping Fully into Financial Education
Over the past few years, a new passion has ignited within me: a desire to help everyday people understand the world of money, which is too often made intentionally confusing. I want to demystify the concepts that quietly shape our lives:

Expanding My Online Home Business 💻
For a long time, I've been building an online home business on the side, a seed I planted for a future I couldn't yet see clearly. Now, that seed gets the sunlight and water it deserves. It’s time to give it the focus and energy required to help people beyond my local area, providing them with education, tools, and legitimate opportunities to earn income from home and take back control of their financial destiny.
Caring for My Health and My Family 👨👩👧👦
Perhaps the most significant blessing of this new season is the change in my most important role: primary caregiver and husband. My responsibility at home is huge—and it’s holy work. This new chapter provides a level of autonomy I’ve never had before. It gives me control over:
- When I work.
- How long I work.
- How I show up for my family, fully present and engaged.
This is about more than just making money; it's about being present where I am most needed, stewarding my time and health with the same seriousness I once applied to national security.
Jobs are temporary. Assignments change. God’s purpose is steady.
If there’s one truth this entire transition has burned into my soul, it’s that. The uniform came off. The badge is turned in. The building door is closed. But the core calling—to serve, to protect, to build, and to empower—didn’t disappear. It just shifted from one battlefield to another.
From digital threats to financial threats.
From securing networks to strengthening households.
From one chain of command to a deeper dependence on God’s leading.
I don’t have a map with every detail of how this next chapter will unfold. But I know this: God didn’t bring me through 30+ years of faithful service just to leave me without a mission. The skills, relationships, and resources from my past season are the seeds for the next one. Today, as I walk away from the base for the last time, I’m not just leaving something behind—I’m entering into something new.
